This Saturday, July 2nd, the American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and GrandStay Hospitality will kick off the 4th of July weekend with a bang at Marshfield Motor Speedway (MMS) for the Marshfield 100.
Wayne Brevik, owner of MMS, is looking forward to the return of the ASA Midwest Tour in 2011. "We are very excited to welcome the ASA Midwest Tour back to Marshfield Motor Speedway this Saturday," Brevik said.
"Along with the great racing, we will have an incredible fireworks display."
A lot of great local drivers will be looking to overtake last year's winner, Chris Wimmer and all of the stars of the ASAMT. 2010 Track Champion, Jason Weinkauf, Fall Shootout Champion, Ben Pettis, last year's Rookie of the Year, Ronnie Rihn and many others will be looking to prove their experience on the half-mile asphalt.
In addition, Steve Holzhausen will be returning to action behind the wheel. In 2010, Holzhausen broke his leg after hard contact with the turn three wall at Dells Raceway Park during practice. Brevik talked with Holzhausen about the return. "I talked to Steve Holzhausen and he told me last week that his return behind the wheel will be this Saturday night at Marshfield. I know the race fans will be excited to see him race again after his injury last season," indicated Brevik.
With the ASAMT visiting the track on 4th of July weekend, fans will be treated to a very special weekend of fun. Not only will the ASAMT bring in the top drivers in the country combined with local hot shoes, but the side-by-side and sometimes three-wide racing will bring non-stop excitement to the fans.
In addition, camping will be available for fans and race teams and the speedway bar will provide music and entertainment for all guests. After the sparks fly on the track a large fireworks extravaganza will light up the sky!
Qualifying begins at 4:30PM, followed by an autograph session at 5:45PM and first race at 6:30PM! For more details log on to asamidwesttour.com
