Johnny Sauter En Route to Oktoberfest; 110 Cars Practice Wednesday Night
Busy Race Weekend Gets Kicked Off Big-Time
Johnny Sauter, currently third in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, loaded up his car into the trailer and started to make the trek from North Carolina to the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway for this weekend’s 42nd Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend. Sauter will be competing in the Dick Trickle 99 on Friday night and the ASA Midwest Tour Oktoberfest 100 on Saturday and Sunday.
Fest officials have also announced that a record of 110 cars were on hand for the Wednesday night practice, and over 1000 campers have already made the La Crosse fairgrounds their home for the remainder of the week and weekend.
The action will get underway on Thursday with six feature events. The Futures Super Late Models will be in action with a 25-lap feature. La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway champions will be determined in the Late Models, Thunderstox, and Sportsmen division. Plus, the popular Double-O Race and 4-Cylinder Enduro will also be in action. Racing will get underway at 6pm.
The Dick Trickle 99 will highlight the racing action on Friday night along with the Super Sportsman and Area Sportsman. Racing will start at 5:00pm.
Champions will be crowned on Saturday night in the Big 8 Series and Mid-American Stock Car Series. Plus the debut of the OUTLAWZ division and qualifying races for the ASA Midwest Tour. Racing starts at 5:00pm.
Sunday will crown champions in the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models and ASA Midwest Truck Tour. Plus, the 2nd Annual JMck 63 Big 8 Series Invitational, Vintage Cars, Open 4-Cylinders and Hornet vs. Bandits.
