Champion Racing Association Officials released their tentative CRA Super Series schedule for the upcoming 2011 season during their Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet held Saturday night in Shelbyville, Indiana. The 2011 season will be the 15th season for the Indiana based touring asphalt template late model series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association. The current tentative schedule consists of nineteen total events, fourteen CRA Super Series point’s events, as well as four CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour events and the special Rowdy 251 event at Berlin Raceway. Teams can score points at all the CRA Super Series events in 2011 towards the previously announced 2011 National Super Late Model Championship, which will consist of the driver accumulating the most points using their best four CRA South and the best four CRA North events.
The CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour will open its 2011 season in just a few weeks with the 7th addition of SpeedFest at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia on January 30th. For the first time ever the 35th Annual Rattler 250 will be sanctioned by CRA and will be the second event with the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour on March 6th. Other CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour events on the schedule so far are September 17th at Gresham Motorsports Park, and the North/South Shoot-out on November 5th. There will be two additional CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour dates announced in the near future.
The CRA Super Series will have two new Michigan events on the 2011 schedule including the July 10th date at M-40 Speedway in Jones and the August 19th event at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run just north of Flint. Baer Field Speedway will return to the series schedule in 2011 after a one year hiatus. Winchester Speedway will have three events again in 2011, with the first being on Monday, May 1st, the second on Labor Day September 5th and of course the famous Winchester 400 on October 16th. Lucas Oil Raceway, formally O’Reilly Raceway Park, will host two series events in 2011, one on June 12th, the second on October 2nd. CRA will have traditional events at Anderson Speedway again in 2011 starting with the season opener on April 16th and the prestigious Red Bud 300 on Monday, August 1st.
Berlin Raceway will host two series events again in 2011, the first will be the Rowdy 251 on Tuesday, June 21st. That event will pay $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start plus special bonuses. The second event at Berlin will be on Saturday, September 24th. Columbus Motor Speedway will have a series event again in 2011, it will move to Memorial Day Weekend with the 125 event scheduled for Monday, May 30th. Tentative events are also scheduled at Angola Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 3rd and at Plymouth Speedway on Sunday July 24th.
