Speed 51 Radio announced today they will be hosting live radio coverage of the 7th Annual SpeedFest at Lanier Nat'l Speedway this Sunday, January 30th, on RaceTalkRadio.com (RTR).

"If you're a race-starved fan stuck in snow, Speed 51 Radio will put you in the action at the kickoff of the season with SpeedFest 2011," said Bob Dillner, NASCAR T.V. Commentator on SPEED.  "If you can't make it to Lanier this weekend, with no football on T.V., you can sit back and listen to us on RTR and also watch Speed51.com's Trackside Now coverage presented by Hedman Husler Hedders."

Radio coverage will begin at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, January 30 with the Pre-Race Show.  The green flag for the Pro Late Model 150-Lap Race is scheduled to drop at 2:00 P.M. and will be followed by the CRA Super Late Model 200-Lap Feature Event.

SPEED Channel's Bob Dillner, Speed 51 Radio's Adam Mackey, and Elgin "Stat Boy" Traylor will be bringing race fans a play-by-play of the action every lap of the way.  Matt Dillner will serve as the broadcast’s pit-road reporter.

"The folks at Speed51.com do such a great job with their coverage of the race and we really appreciate the exposure they give us here at Lanier Nat'l Speedway," said Donnie Clack.  “It helps us with exposure for all of our competitors and getting the word out about SpeedFest.”

Whether fans are watching from the stands or listening to the live coverage on Speed 51 Radio, they are sure to witness an action-packed event.  SpeedFest is known to draw in the biggest heavy-hitters in Late Models, and this year's races are no exception.

David Ragan, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, will be heading to Lanier to race in 2011 SpeedFest's 150-Lap Pro Late Model event.  Ragan will be a driver to watch out for after winning the 4th Annual Ice Cold Shriner's Bowl at Lanier Nat'l Speedway earlier this month.

Among the Super Late Model entries will be teams with a lot of NASCAR connections.  Kyle Busch, also a Sprint Cup Series driver and the two-time defending winner of the event, will field Late Model, which will be driven by T.J. Reaid, the 2010 All American 400 Winner.

Several sons of NASCAR drivers will be in the line-up as well, including Ross Kenseth (son of Sprint Cup Series Champion Matt Kenseth), Chase Elliot (son of Sprint Cup Series Champion Bill Elliot), and Ryan Blaney (son of Dave Blaney).

Speed 51 Radio will be covering all of the action between these drivers and more, so tune in on RaceTalkRadio.com on Sunday, beginning at 1:30pm, for the 7th Annual SpeedFest.

Since 2001, Speed51.com has been the home for short track news and behind-the-scenes stories from series all around the country, from ARCA and NASCAR's Touring Divisions, to the Super Late Model and Modified series from all across the country and much more.  Now in its 11th season of covering short tracks from coast-to-coast, Speed51.com continues to set the bar in race coverage, broadcasting and breaking news.
