Lane Shows Gratitude to Landis with Ride for Angola CRA Event Sunday
Racing Friends Team Up to Tackle Angola Motor Speedway

On May 7th at Anderson Speedway Jeff Lane, with car owner Hayden Butler, became the first CRA Super Series driver to start his 200th event, and fittingly, Lane went on to win that event, his 13th with the CRA Super Series and started what has been a resurgence in Lane’s performance with the CRA Super Series so far this season. Lane credits that resurgence to the help he has received this season from veteran Edgerton, Ohio racer Jack Landis. The Knightstown, Indiana native finds himself second in series points after four events, with a third place finish at Baer Field Speedway and a sixth place finish at Columbus and was having a good run at Lucas Oil Raceway before getting caught up in an accident.

“With Jack around, I have had more fun this season then I have had in a long time,” remarked Lane. “He brings a ton of knowledge to the table, which makes it easy to trust what he does to the car. He also brings his girls and they bring cookies, which is always a good thing!”

Lane and Butler decided to reward Landis for his help so far this season by putting him in one of their CRA Super Series late models for this coming weekend’s EMF Richard Poe Memorial 125 at Angola Motor Speedway.

“As far as him driving for us this year, that was my idea, he's a talented driver and that's it, he has a ton of laps at Angola and has won a lot of races there. I’m looking forward to having a blast this weekend.”

Landis has been Lane’s spotter for each event so far this season, so with Landis in a racecar, Lane will get help from his former full-time spotter Brandon Lines. Lane will also have his number one fan and supporter with him, his wife Linda. Lane’s CRA Super Series racing efforts have been supported many years by the Ed Martin Auto Group, Tom True Auto and Kingen Industries.

Lane added, “I have been lucky to have the support of a great car owner, my family and some great sponsors, without all of them I could never have raced as long as I have and had the success I have had! I really want to thank them all!

Lane will be doing double duty on Sunday at Angola as he is the current point’s leader in the EDCO Welding CRA Street Stocks by 14 points over Josh Poore. Lane is driving for veteran street stock car owner Danny Acrey from new Castle, Indiana.
