The Historic High Banks of Winchester Speedway up Next for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Chase Elliott to Make Series Debut Saturday
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts will head to the historic High Banks of Winchester Speedway this Saturday for the Winchester 100 Presented by Winchester Speedway is one of the oldest asphalt short tracks in the country with racing starting on the grounds as early as 1915. Saturday’s racing is part of the two day Old Timers Weekend event that will feature numerous racecars from the past on display and making laps on the track on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s show will also feature the Must See Racing .com Extreme Winged Sprint Car Series and the USA Modified Series. The Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will race on both days.

CRA has had numerous events at Winchester with its other series including the CRA Super Series, which sanctions the prestigious Winchester 400. 15 year old Chase Elliott, winner of last year’s 39th Annual Winchester 400, will make his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts debut Saturday night. The son of NASCAR Legend Bill Elliott, has become one of the top late model drivers in the country and is now a development driver for famed NASCAR owner Rick Hendrick, driving in the NASCAR K & N Pro East Series along with selected late model events all over the country.

Elliott will have plenty of competition in Saturday night’s race as 24 cars have already entered the event including current series point’s leader Eddie Hoffman, who is the only two time winner in the series inaugural season. Hoffman holds a 45 point leader over 15 year old Erik Jones who is also entered for Saturday nights race. Jones picked up his first series victory in the series last event on August 30th at Rockford Speedway. Other top series drivers who are entered include Chad Finley, Josh Nelms, Claude Plante Jr., Brandon Watson, Brent Downey, Wes Griffth Jr., Danny Jackson, Jack Smith, Justin Matson and Austin Woodham. 15 year old Cody Coughlin, who is leading the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Award Presented by Howe Racing points after six series events, is also entered along with fellow series rookies Jimmy Novak and Tom Woodin. Illinois native Trent Snyder is entered to make his third series start of the season on Saturday, Snyder was the winner in his series debut at Anderson Speedway in July.

CRA Super Series regular competitors Derrick Griffin and Jason Dietsch have filed entries for Saturday night’s race. Griffin is currently third in CRA Super Series points and is leading that series Rookie of the Year points. Veteran Ft. Wayne racers Tommy Cook and Steve Christman are both entered. Christman will be making his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour debut with veteran car owner Blaine Miller. Brian Ross, a two time CRA Super Series Champion, will make his series debut also on Saturday night in the Preston Miller owned number 40. Ross is tied with Scott Hantz and Bull Baker with the most CRA Super Series victories at Winchester Speedway with three apiece. Two other drivers making their series debuts at Winchester Saturday include Chris Muhler who will make the long haul from Brighton, Colorado to Winchester and Jeremy Levenson who will come from Lexington, Kentucky to race in Saturday night’s event.

Pits will open at 11am Saturday. The series will have two 45 minute practice sessions beginning at 2pm.  The series will qualify at 5:30pm. The night’s race program will begin at 7:00pm and will include the Winchester 100 Presented by for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts. The race program will also include heat races and a 20 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts.
