Three Promo Appearances Scheduled for Greenville-Pickens Opener
The drivers of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East have a busy week of promotional appearances in advance of the season-opening Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway on Saturday, March 26.
The week’s event schedule will begin with participation in “NASCAR Night” at the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats game on Wednesday, March 23. K&N Pro Series East drivers Michael Cherry, Zach Germain, Ryan Gifford, Corey LaJoie and Brett Moffitt – along with 2011 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown winner Jason Bowles – will join NASCAR national series competitors for the pre-game fan event. Also in attendance will be NASCAR Whelen All-American Series drivers Jorge Arteaga and Mackena Bell
The “NASCAR Night” festivities in Time Warner Cable Arena will feature show cars – including the Pastrana-Waltrip Racing Toyota driven by Travis Pastrana – to go along with interactive displays, raffle and door prizes, photograph opportunities and a driver autograph session that will begin at 6:15 p.m. Greenville Pickens will also have a presence at the event, and will give away Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 tickets to the first 50 fans in line for autographs.
There will be two driver appearances on Friday, March 25 in the Greenville area. Cherry, Gifford, Germain and Moffitt will be joined by Sergio Peña, Brandon Haley and Rick and Brandon Gdovic in a visit to the Greenville Shriners Hospital for Children.
Greenville Pickens will also hold its “Starting Line Party” on Friday at 8 p.m., at the Outback Steakhouse in nearby Easley, S.C. The event will have some of the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competitors in attendance, and is open to all K&N Pro Series East drivers.
The 25th season of the K&N Pro Series East will get underway with the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150. This will be the sixth season in a row that the series has opened at the historic half mile.
