Spanish-Language Audio Added To Several Events
NASCAR K&N West Finale and Final Two NASCAR Mexico Races to Stream on

NASCAR announced today an extension of its outreach to motorsports fans within the Hispanic community by adding Spanish-language audio coverage of several live events to close out the 2011 race season.

At the center of this initiative is NASCAR’s Developmental Series and Home Tracks program. The two entities and are aimed at fostering young racing talent, both behind the wheel and in the garage, to become the next generation of drivers and crew members in its top three levels of competition – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West finale at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, Nov. 12 will have live audio coverage of the race streamed in both English and Spanish on
Handling the duties on the Spanish side will be Diego Mejia (Twitter: @diegofmejia), who covers NASCAR for SPEED Latin America and Matt Kentfield and Jason Galvin from Speed51 Productions (Twitter: @Speed51dotcom) will announce the race in English.

Additionally, the final two events of the NASCAR Mexico Series will be streamed in Spanish on the beginning with the Aguascalientes 240 at Autódromo Aguascalientes on Sunday, Nov. 6 followed by the season finale in Mexico City at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on Sunday, Nov. 27. This feed will come from the trackside announcers calling the action for the fans in attendance.

In Aguascalientes, Germán Quiroga has an opportunity to clinch an unprecedented third consecutive NASCAR Mexico Series championship. In the championship standings, he carries a 180-point lead over Jorge Goeters into the event with Homero Richards lurking 30 points behind Goeters. Quiroga has made a late-season push for the title, winning two of the series’ last three events.
