Lanier Speedway Revs Toward Exciting 2011
Super 6 Pro Late Models to Kick Off This Weekend
Track PR
While the drowsy days of Winter is behind, the spring time fever has hit, and for any race fan, that means the start of a new and exciting year, no different for the race fans at Lanier Speedway.  Leading into the 2011 season will be the new format for the Red Top Auto Auction Super 6 Pro Late Models, as they will race in three feature events throughout the evening.  Each event will be 30 lap segments, with other divisions to race in between the races, to allow for adjustments, repairs, or any other legal modification that many teams feel the need for, during the longer lapped events.

With the new feature format, there will be a new format to determine the starting field for each segment.  Instead of the traditional two lap qualifying procedure, the Red Top Auto Auction Super 6 Pro Late Models will have three laps to accomplish their qualifying record, with the first lap recorded earning their starting position for the first race, the second lap, will determine the starting order for the second race, and their third and final lap locking them in to the third race.  The fastest qualifier   for each segment will have the opportunity to roll the dice to determine how many cars will invert from keeping their hard earned spot, to taking the green flag in the 6th place position.

“We are excited about the new and exciting format for our Red Top Auto Auction Super 6 Pro Late Model divisions, and we know that the fans and racers alike will enjoy the difference, of seeing not only who has the best cars during the first of the triple segments, but what team can make the most and best changes during the segments.  Also, we are excited about welcoming back our local divisions and watching the outstanding races that they always preform,” said Donnie Clack, Owner and General Manger of Lanier Speedway.

Other divisions that will be competing on Saturday April 9th, and throughout the year at the 3/8th’s mile asphalt oval will include the Super Trucks, Outlaw Late Models, Mini-Stocks, Pro Challenge, Mini-Cup, Junkyard Dawgs, Legends Young Lions, Semi-Pro, Masters, and Pro divisions, along with the Bandoleros.

Lanier Speedway offers ample grandstand seating, along with a unique trackside tailgating experience, with the three tier trackside parking on the back straightaway, and the opportunity to park next to the fence for the up and close race fans.  Pit Tickets will be sold starting at 12:30 with pit gates swinging open at 1:00pm.  Late Models will have a one hour practice session from 2:30 – 3:30 with local divisions receiving two rounds of practice starting at 3:30.  Grandstand gates will open at 5pm.
