Since racing returned to Rockingham in 2008, Cerro Gordo (N.C.)-based Black’s Tire and Auto Service has been a part of the action.

That relationship continues for the May 14, 2011 running of the Carolina 200 as Black’s Tire and Auto Service returns as the presenting sponsor of the UARA Late Model and USAR Pro Cup double header.

“Rockingham is such a great place and we really support what Andy (Hillenburg), his staff and the people of Richmond County have done for racing,” said Ricky Benton, owner of Black’s Tire and Auto Service. “We at Black’s Tire are proud to be a part of it.”

“Anyone who has been around racing in North or South Carolina for any amount of time knows Black’s Tire and Ricky Benton and we are glad to have them as a part of what we are doing here at Rockingham,” said Rockingham Speedway President Andy Hillenburg. “We hope our fans will support them the way they have supported racing here at Rockingham.”

Racing action also gets underway on May 12 with a practice for the cars of the UARA and USAR Pro Cup Series. General admission to the grandstands is free on Thursday. Friday, May 13 is pole day for USAR and UARA with fans admitted to the grandstands for $5. The Carolina 200 gets underway Saturday, May 14 with the UARA Late Models rolling off at 12 noon to be followed by the USAR 150-miler. Tickets, starting at $20 in advance, and suite packages are still available.
