for 46th Annual Governors's Cup 200
Super Late Model Show Will Feature Live Radio Coverage

The Staff and Management of New Smyrna Speedway are pleased to announce that Speed51.com will provide the official media coverage of the 46th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200 presented by Bright House Networks. Coverage will include exclusive behind-the-scenes reporting throughout the two-day event and will culminate with a live internet-based Radio Broadcast on the Speed 51 Radio Channel as well as Speed51’s trademark Trackside Now real-time reporting.

This year’s event will feature a three-day format with Open Practice on Thursday (11/17), a special Limited Late Model 50 lap race on Friday Night (11/18) along with season ending races for the FASCAR Weekly Racing Divisions and practice rounds for the Super Late Models.

The 200 lap Florida Governor’s Cup for the Super Late Models will take place on Saturday (11/19), along with features for the local Sportsman, E-Modifieds and Super Stock divisions. As a way to help reduce costs to competitors, there will be break halfway through the event. Race teams will be allowed to change tires, add fuel and make any adjustments they need to their cars.

“We enjoy racing tradition here at Speed51.com and the Governor’s Cup is one of those traditional races that racing fans look forward to every year,” said Bob Dillner, Executive Editor of Speed51.com and NASCAR on SPEED TV broadcaster. “I won’t get the opportunity to be there because I will be in Homestead, FL for the NASCAR finale, but we’re are sending two of our best men, Duke (Kentfield) and Stat Boy (Elgin Traylor) to put on this race.  We hope is creates exposure for the track and certainly all the teams participating.  We encourage racers to come to this race as a tune-up for the Snowball Derby.”

For the third consecutive year Ricky Brooks will be the head Tech Inspector for the Florida Governor’s Cup. Working alongside Brooks will be New Smyrna Speedway Head Tech Inspector Jeff Sutcliffe and Rusty Crews.

Laps Sponsorships for the 46th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200 are currently being sold for $100.00/lap with 100% of the money being added to the total purse. If all 200 laps are sold, the purse will be increased by $20,000.00 to be distributed throughout the field.
