Football Icon Ken "Snake" Stabler will be the Grand Marshall and drop the green flag for the Miller Lite 100 opening night at Mobile International Speedway, a Rick Crawford Performance Track, Saturday March 26th.
"Ken is a long time racing supporter and at one time I drove a late model for the Snake. We've remained friends and I'm excited that he's going to be at the Speedway for my first race," said the track's new promoter Rick Crawford.
After playing college for Alabama's Bear Bryant, Stabler reached star status in the NFL becoming the leagues most valuable player in 1974 and leading the Raiders to a Championship in Super Bowl XI.
"You can fell the positive energy Rick is bringing to the track. It's good for the Speedway, it's good for racing and it's a huge plus for South Alabama," offered Stabler.
Long since retired from football, Stabler's Legend Cellars has partnered with Anderson Estate Wines of Santiago Chile to produce the "12" Championship Collection.
Racing returns to Mobile International Speedway on Saturday March 26th with the Miller Lire Super Late Model Series, the Island Motors II Bombers, the Bob Speed Shop Sportsmen and the Alabama Pipe and Supply Modifieds.
